1. When a service makes more sense than buying
Buying a degausser is straightforward economics when you destroy media regularly. It is not straightforward when:
- You destroy a handful of drives a year. A machine would sit idle, and you would still need periodic verification to keep the compliance claim alive.
- You have a one-off project. A data centre floor refresh, a branch consolidation, a hardware refresh, a merger integration.
- You have several sites. Centralising destruction at one hub may be a better security posture than installing a machine at every branch.
- You need to close an audit finding quickly. A witnessed destruction run with a signed register is a faster answer than a procurement cycle.
- You want to avoid capital budget entirely. The service is an operating expense.
2. What we need from you
- An asset list with tag or serial number and media type. If you do not have one, we will build it on site.
- Access to the media, and a standard 230 V socket near the work area.
- A custodian from your side who can sign the register — this matters for banks and regulated clients.
- Custody rules if the media cannot leave a secure area, or must be escorted.
- Any exclusions — leased equipment that must be returned intact, or media under legal hold.

5. What we do not do
Two things are worth stating plainly, because they come up in enquiries:
- We do not resell hardware. We have no resale arm and no incentive to route your media into a second-hand channel. Sanitised and crushed media goes to scrap.
- We do not batch-register. Every asset gets its own row. This is slower and it is the entire point.
