Hard Drive Degaussers in India — Proton T-Series
A degausser applies a 1 to 2 Tesla magnetic pulse that permanently randomises the data layer inside hard drives and tapes — including drives that are dead or firmware-locked. Proton builds the six models below; Quridge supplies, installs and services them across India. Solid-state media cannot be degaussed — see our shredder range.
1 Tesla • 20 sec
Best value
Entry-level, drawer-style HDD and tape degausser for offices, clinics and schools.
- Fastest 20-second cycle in its class — one HDD roughly every 20 seconds
- Universal input voltage, so no motor change for Indian mains
- Degausses failed, bad-sector and firmware-locked drives that shredders choke on
1.2 Tesla
DoD compliant
Drawer degausser with 1.2 Tesla output — built for data centres and ITAD throughput.
- 1.2 Tesla effective field clears modern high-coercivity media reliably
- Oversized drawer loads several server drives at once, cutting per-drive handling time
- Touchscreen reports field strength for every cycle — useful as audit evidence
1.5 Tesla • <5 sec
Fastest cycle
1.5 Tesla pulse with a sub-5-second cycle — the fastest electromagnetic degausser Proton builds.
- Sub-5-second cycle time — roughly 700 or more drives per working day in continuous use
- 1.5 Tesla clears today's highest-coercivity platter media
- Software interlock means an under-strength cycle can never be signed off
NSA EPL • ±20,000 G
NSA EPL listed
NSA/CSS Evaluated Products List degausser with patented Reverse-Polarity bi-directional pulse.
- NSA/CSS Evaluated Products List listed — the standard asked for in Indian defence and PSU tenders
- Bi-directional ±20,000 Gauss pulse via patented Reverse-Polarity technology
- Internal Gaussmeter plus LCD means no separate instrument and no re-certification programme
2 Tesla • <20 sec
NSA EPL • fastest
NSA-listed 2 Tesla degausser — the fastest and most effective unit in the Proton range.
- 2 Tesla (20,000 Gauss) per cycle — the highest sustained field in the Proton degausser range
- Under 20 seconds per drive, so bulk refresh projects finish in days not weeks
- Digital cycle counter gives you a defensible destruction log for audits
Up to 5,000 Oe
Portable
Handheld wand for on-site destruction of disk drives, diskpacks, drum memories and tapes.
- Carried to the media — no need to move drives back to a central sanitisation room
- Full-cycle positive and negative field clears remnant magnetic signatures left by conventional erase and reformat
- Tested for perpendicular magnetic disk devices and up to 5,000 Oe media
Frequently asked questions
Straight answers to the questions Indian buyers ask most often. Cannot find yours? Call us — we answer technical questions on the phone.
Which Proton degausser is the most popular in India?
The T-1.5 and T-4 are the most requested. The T-1.5 wins on throughput (sub-5-second cycle, 1.5 Tesla). The T-4 wins wherever an NSA/CSS Evaluated Products List listing is a mandatory tender specification — defence, government, PSU and large BFSI.
What is the difference between the T-1.2 and the T-1.5?
The T-1.5 produces a 1.5 Tesla field against the T-1.2's 1.2 Tesla, and completes a cycle in under 5 seconds versus about 20 seconds. That makes the T-1.5 the cheaper option per drive when you are processing volume, and the safer option on very high-coercivity enterprise media.
Do I need an NSA-listed degausser in India?
If your customer is a government department, a PSU, a bank tendering under RBI supervision, or a defence organisation, an NSA EPL listing is usually written into the tender. For a private Indian company with no such obligation, a 1 to 1.5 Tesla DoD-compliant machine is generally sufficient.
Can these degaussers run on Indian mains?
Yes. All Proton degaussers are supplied to Quridge as universal-voltage units (100–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz), so they run on standard 230 V / 50 Hz Indian supply without any motor or transformer change.
Do you service degaussers outside Bengaluru?
Yes. We supply and service across India. Annual maintenance contracts cover periodic field-strength verification, consumables and on-site response. For outstation breakdowns we arrange engineer dispatch.
